Broward County has several excellent animal shelters and rescue groups which always have wonderful, healthy and cute puppies for adoption to loving homes.

Broward County Animal Care and Adoption has two locations: one is in Fort Lauderdale at 1870 SW 39th Street near the Fort Lauderdale Airport and the other is in Pompano Beach at 3100 NW 19th Terrace east of Powerline Road between Copans Road and Sample Road.

The Fort Lauderdale shelter is open Tuesday - Sunday for adoptions, and the Pompano Beach shelter is open Tuesday - Saturday for adoptions.

Adoption fee is $50.00, which includes health exam from shelter veterinary staff, vaccinations, Microchip (Home Again, de-worming, spaying or neutering (Sterilization) and 1 year Broward County License tag. Sometimes the shelter offers special reduced adoption fees, so you might want to check their Facebook page or contact the shelter directly at (954) 359-1010.
